| Project Type: Database & Database Publishing Client: The Disney Store Project Description: Relational database system for managing store stage set guidelines. Background: The Disney company operates 700+ Disney stores. From a single Visual Merchandising department located in Glendale, California they prepare a weekly visual merchandising report that contains the guidelines and recommendations for the allocation of space for designated merchandise. The weekly 20+ page report is broken down into generic store zones, zone fixtures and shelf allotments. Project Goals: The Project Goal was to streamline the preparation of the report, allow collaboration from different store section personnel, and to allow data entry take advantage of the repetitive nature of the content. The look of the report had to mimic the existing Word Processing Documents and Excel Spreadsheets that were used to create the existing document. TooBaRoo's Solution: TooBaRoo created an integrated four database solution consisting of: (1) a calendar display module that would display four weeks of a specific store section's items; (2) a value lists module to assist in speeding and increasing the accuracy of data entry; (3) A line items module where a specific product was joined with a store zone, fixture and shelf allotment; and (4) a holding database used for duplicating a prior weeks records. |
