Project Description: Data consolidation, duplication & error checking Background: Enzymes Inc. manufactures nutritional and dietary supplements that are sold worldwide. They use FileMaker Pro to track distributor leads, mail order customers, leads and product inquiries. Assignment: Consolidate and flag duplicates in approximately 40 separate contacts databases containing tens of thousands of records. Pull the "cleaned" records into a single database that could quickly locate leads by first, last name and organization name. TooBaRoo Solution: TooBaRoo created a separate database that contained text concatenation calculations and looping scripts to quickly flag suspect records for potential deletion. TooBaRoo modified and enhanced an existing FileMaker contacts template to have relational database functions. We created a self-lookup that allowed for contacts to be found instantly by just typing the first few letters of the contact first, last or organization's name. We created several calculations and looping scripts to quickly flag suspect records for potential deletion. |
