| Project Type: Database Enhancement Client: Merv Griffin Productions Project Description: Relational database system for managing and logging the content of the Merv Griffin Show Tape Library. Background: Merv Griffin Productions owns the film library of the Merv Griffin show. This library contains video tape footage of all the shows, promo clips and specials. The contents of the film library represent an interesting piece of Americana during the life of the shows airing. Portions of the tapes are often licensed for use in television specials, documentaries and other broadcasts. To assist in the easy research and retrieval of information for licensing they needed to archive the information in a database. Project Goals: (1) Take the existing flat file database and create a relational structure that would allow for the quick searching of all shows by a particular type of performers or guest, date or show type. (2) Create value lists and data entry screens that would facilitate the accurate and quick entry of tape information. TooBaRoo Solution: TooBaRoo modified and enhanced an existing flat file solution to accomplish the project goals. |
